Darla - Memorial to a beautiful bull dog

On June 29th, 2007, "Our Gang's Darla" crossed the rainbow bridge.  I was with her, as was Dr. K and Aunt Olga.

Darla's health had been failing, and she could no longer hear or see very well.  In the past few days, she began drinking tons of water, was having difficulty breathing, and was losing strength and mental faculties.  She would not even respond to her favorite word "biscuit."  She had trouble standing and was not herself.

Darla is the mother of 18 bulldog puppies, youngest of whom would be seven years of age.  Margie, went over the bridge before the "mamma dog" as we fondly called Darla on March 4 of this year and was from her last litter.

Beatrice passed away three years ago tomorrow, June 30.

Now the pack is together.

For those of you who spent time with Darla, she was the best dog anyone would ever want.  She loved puppies and was a great mom.  I am sure she will be running with the puppies in doggie heaven.

Peace to the Darla girl.
